the woodland family
Camp Woodland is a privately owned summer day camp for boys and girls ages 5-16. Camp Woodland first opened its doors at C.B. Smith Park in 1983.
Our mission is to enrich the lives of children through friendships, new experiences, and traditions in a safe environment where campers try new things, develop self-confidence, and learn to empathize and be kind to others. Camp Woodland is a FAMILY in every sense of the word. Our goal has always been to have each camper feel that sense of belonging, happiness, and acceptance when they walk through our doors!
Established by Susan Siler in 1983, with the purpose to offer families the same joy and life-time memories Camp Life had brought to her. Keeping traditional sleep-away camp experiences like Color-War, Camper/Staff Shows and Special Events is important at Camp Woodland.
These days Susan spends her time with family, friends, and running Color War in her own 55+ community! Her granddaughters are her pride and joy. She loves getting to see them at Camp Woodland! “Watching generations of our camp families walk through those Camp Woodland doors is an incredible feeling!” Susan may still be spotted at camp during our annual Color War and other Special Events!
Our TEAM

Lori
Lori Anger grew up at Camp Woodland. She has experienced all aspects of the camp from being a young camper, teen camper, Counselor in Training, Camp Counselor, and on-site Director. Currently, she is Director of Administrative and Organizational Operations. Hers is the voice on the phone that many Camp Woodland families have gotten to know over the years! Lori received her Educational Specialist Degree in School Guidance and Counseling from the University of Florida. In 2010, she put her career in guidance counseling on hold so during the off season she could volunteer and spend quality time with her daughters! Lori currently resides in Boynton Beach, FL with her husband (Mike), daughters (Ava and Emma) and Bullmastiff (Rudy).
Rob
On-site Director, Robert Bourne, currently resides in Clover, S.C. with wife (Anna) and daughters (Lucia and Julianna). Each summer, Rob leaves his home in South Carolina to come spend his summers with us at Camp Woodland. Rob has been a part of The Camp Woodland Family since 1996. His leadership at camp ensures that campers and staff have a meaningful summer camp experience in a SAFE and FUN environment. During the school year, Rob is a high school special education teacher and assistant basketball coach at Rock Hill High School. Rob’s favorite thing at Camp Woodland is the annual Color War!
Fun Fact…. Even though he moved to South Carolina, Rob’s favorite college football team is still the Miami Hurricanes!

Carly
We are thrilled to have Carly Mautner as our newest on-site Director at Camp Woodland. Carly first began working at Camp Woodland in 2009 as a counselor for girls entering 4th & 5th grade. She never got to experience camp as a young child, so she jumped at the opportunity to experience it as an adult. She spent most of her time at Woodland as a counselor for our Middle Camp and Unit Leader for our Teen Camp Program. Her favorite part of camp are the laughs and relationships she gets to share with the campers. She loves seeing the excitement when a new camper makes a new friend or the reunion of “besties” that have not seen each other since the previous summer. During the school year, Carly is a high school math teacher at Pembroke Pines Charter School. She enjoys anything and everything water-related, fishing, paddle boarding, scuba diving and, most recently, cave diving throughout Florida.
